summer reader

I signed up Mason for our neighborhood library's summer reading program. Thus far, he's already logged enough hours for a free book and a night light--a few more hours to go and he'll be eligible to enter a drawing for a Kindle!

Sadly, I'm not reading much for myself this summer. But reading to my boy each day, even the same books over and over, is great fun. He writhes with excitement when we lie down on the bed or floor to read. He's just started pulling books out of a pile and handing them to me--his way of asking me to read to him. Watching him develop a love for books makes my heart explode.

And yes, selfishly, I am hoping he wins that Kindle!
