the p word

A colleague at work called me last week.

Colleague: "Hi! I've been meaning to call you for weeks now. When are you popping?"

Stunned silence.

Me: "Excuse me?"

Colleague: "When are you popping?"

Me: "Are you asking when my due date is?"

Colleague: "Yes."

Have I mentioned that I abhor the word pop or any form of it when it is associated with pregnancy? At least this colleague is a female. I might have croaked if a man uttered that word to me.

ugh! That is the worst! I'm sure I've told you befor, but that's what my horrible old boss said me a couple times, and I had to ask to him refrain from using the word "pop". It made me cringe too. This is also the same person who asked if I was dialated; so believe me it can get worse.

Lol! Popping? Like a balloon? I have to say that I haven't heard that one before (and I will not be using it on any of the pregnant women in my life).
